落合の石畳

Ochiai Stone Pavement

昔の姿を留めていた石畳三か所、70.8mが昭和39年(1964)岐阜県史跡に指定されました。その後、平成6年(1994)全長840mが再現されました。石畳は、急坂を超える旅人の便を図って作られたもので、同時に坂を大雨から守る役目も果たしています。

Ochiai stone pavement was designated as a national historic site under the name of ‘Nakasen-do Road’ in 2010. There are 3 areas where its original features remain, the total length of witch come to 70.8m. It is said that paving stones enabled travelers to walk more easily and prevented washout by heavy rain.
